Panic, your knees lock as your mind screams “move”. The creature reaches the third step, the fourth, your eyes well and you want to cry and beg for your life but nothing happens. The creature climbs the fifth step, the sixth; your body begins to shake violently. You close your eyes and scream until you need to gasp for breath, you burst into a run down the hall you haven’t yet explored.
Your mind races and your body thumps sweat and tense as you try to pick your fate. Unlike the other side of the hall you find three doors here, two along the wall as before but this time there is a door at the end of the hall. You believe it to be the master bedroom but is that the best option, does it even matter at this point? You know now that you must get outside, even with that dog out there it’s better then being in here.
You go with your gut and run to the door at the end of the hall, as you turn the handle you turn and look back. Pushing open the door and turning to bring the light back down the hallway you see the creature coming off the last step. Walking backwards into the room you watch as it slowly turns its body toward you. Slamming the door you breathe a momentary sigh of relief but soon you return to panic mode looking around quickly for something to block the door with.
The room is filled with furniture, two dressers, a huge bed a few chairs none of which look very good to block a door but you have little choice and limited time. You bite the flashlight as you slide one of the chairs toward the door, its too low to jam into the handle so you place it and move back for the dresser. Grunting and struggling you push and heave the heavy dress toward the door, as it gets close it catches something and begins to tip, you move with he movement and it tumbles over.
Coughing from the dust that has just been trusted into the air you search for the flashlight. You see a muffled light on the floor and reach down to find it is covered by some kind of fabric. You throw it off and pick up the light to find that the dresser fell to your advantage in front of the door and actually broke the old chair you had placed there. One of the draws had opened the front part breaking from the jarring movement; it had strewn some cloths about. Satisfied for now you start to look for a window, currently your only way out.
You can see a little light coming threw a crack in the darkness near the other side of the room next to the bed. Throwing the heavy thick curtains apart you are greeting with a clear window without bars. Another wave of hope flows over you as you drop your backpack and once again grab your crowbar. You prepare to smash the window when from behind you hear a thud and a moan. You half turn wondering if you should throw something else up against the door or just smash the window and get out of here.
